Angry Luperon Theft

Just want to let other cruisers know to be very careful with belongings in Luperon right now. There have been a couple of other thefts but last night, we had our dinghy motor stolen off the dinghy. It was locked but not good enough and they tried to take the whole dinghy but that lock system was better. Sure has changed my good opinion about this place!

Re: Luperon Theft

In 2009,while in Luperon, I seen a small coastal vessal with over a dozen outboards arranged in brackets along its topside. Mentioning this to officials resulted in a shurg.

When in Santa Domingo in 2002 the boat next to me, med-tied to quay, left their shoes and sandles on the dock next to their stearn. In the morning they were gone.

Re: Luperon Theft

Been stuck in Melbourne FL US behind public pier with 24/7 light etc, for a year
so far,
six bikes, just noticed one gone again today!
one outboard
stern cracked on dinghy from three attemps (break off plastic handle, crank down with 12inch wrench till mounts dig into wood)
2 dinghys
3 rod and reels
Anchor light SHOT out!!

Probaly safer in lupron! hope to get there soon. Is there still a 34 grampian sampitico or some simerler name there? been years and years. i liked manzinlio better and we were warend by everybody they'd steal our underwear if givin a chance! we were treated like family there though. stayed a season and ne3ver lost a thing.
