Re: What is this symbol on Navionics charts?

Put the target search on it and it says....
"... Restricted area - Nature reserve: Highly Migratory Species Protection Area - Driftnet Closure 3..."

Pink chicken clearly marks where you are allowed to toss chicken bones.

We find this on charts throughout the Caribbean. They appear in both deep and shallow as well as over land. I can’t get any pop up explanation. We’ve given up and ignore them.

We find that real sanctuaries are marked by boundaries and notes.

The Navionics website gives a description of the symbols here: https://navionics.secure.force.com/k...fs=Search&pn=1

Hmmmm. Doesn’t explain why they are also shown over exceedingly deep open water. I will continue to ignore the pink duck crying ‘Wolf!’
