Raymarine 6001 auto helm failure

As soon as the auto helm is engaged it slams the wheel hard to starboard. Has anyone seen this and have any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Raymarine 6001 auto helm failure

This sounds like the + & - cable outputs need to be reversed. This is the drive to the hydraulic pump sometimes called A & B.
This usually happens if any re-wiring or replacement parts have been added to your pilot system.
A & B can sometimes be reversed in the calibration setup software settings. If it was and a factory reset has been performed on the calibration settings.
