New Zealand Cruising Guide

I am planning a trip from Sydney to the North Island of New Zealand (specifically the Bay of Islands) in December and am looking for a good crusing guide, preferably as a paper book rather than an app but happy to hear about great apps, too. Any ideas?

The Pickmere Atlas was one we enjoyed a great deal. Difficult to store because it is so tall, for the "mud maps". The Royal Akarana YC also put one out that was pretty usable, also in paper.
