Re your question about moving the overlay with a mouse click. Unfortunately that is currently beyond my capabilities, maybe someday.

re the european 50. There must be a way to adjust for this. Perhaps Dan or Cagney know how they do it in OpenCPN? Maybe I'll have to dig through their source again.

I open GE2KAP
I am required to start GE and display the aera, which I do
I am required to enter the dir and chart name (apparently without .kap extension)
e.g. C:\Users\François\Desktop\GE2KAP\KAP\Houat
I hit the create KAP
I am warned not to enter anything (probably in the window that pops up)
Then I get 'Error Calibration failed
Unable to find Google earth window...'
GE is open and the suitable area is displayed

On retry the log is:

Please can we have version numbers in the file name of the beta as i am confused as to which file to open in my Earth to Kap folder Xp just renames them (1) (2) (3) etc

Your log indicates that it cannot find the "Save As" screen which should have come up after it send a Ctrl + Alt + S to Google earth. Did you see GE come to the foreground and then the Save As?

I am going to update the normal version of GE2KAP with the version before it tried to issue the Ge commands.

Waiting to see if anyone else has problems with the Beta version.

the "Save As" screen does pop up. I'll try to see if GE comes to the foreground as well

In fact, I don't have time (if I have to), because I get the error message almost immediately

You just have to enter the chart name on the top entry field on my program. I should fill it in on GE when the Save As pops up, then it will press the Save button.

Unfortunately I won't be able to logon for a few days. We are sailing out today.

Just installed your new version of GM2KAP v.1.2.4 but all the overlay function options are missing? It only allows the creation of a .kap map from a GE display. What happened to the rest?

The new version does not function for me on Vista and produces the following error message. Tried it twice,same error message.

I recommend we go back to the previous working version until Paul returns from his cruise.

The previous version produces nicely aligned .kap charts from the GE display BUT the overlay version get very much reduced from it's original size. Owing to the fact that the CM93 overlay can not be copied from a full screen in OpenCPN,I would have hoped the final overlaid map could have been zoomed out to fill the screen. No doubt Paul will look into this after his invigorating cruise.

Re Tores bug report post 148 You get this error if you do not put a file name for the created kap file. This should be error trapped to ask for a file name. In tores screenshot only the path has been entered missing the file name

I have found the best way to handle Cmap93 as overlays is to capture from the opencpn screen and then move the view and recapure a slighlty overlapping area. You av do this a number of times. Using a autostitch program or manually stitch in photopaint and then save. You have a large area captured larger then a single screen I then auto position in GE cutting and pasting from the GPX file to a template kml file or cutting a pasting to the position tab of the properties of the image you are overlaying. The original resulution of the cmap image is preserved. You can then change the view or zoom in GE to any area and then convert to kap chart in GE2Kap. As the program is essentiall screen grabbing a view from GE and creating a kap file from that the resolution will be screen resolution only.The professional version of GE will save a jpeg of an area in hi res but you have to pay 200 GBP to have it. The image overlay you created in GE earth can be saved and later used to create any more kap files from differing views or zooms.I can see no point in converting your captured cmap image to a kap file then getting GE2Kap to overlay it in GE and create an new combined kap file. I thing the program GE2kap comes into its own when you have an existing kap file to overlay thanks to Pauls hard work

Polarview will capture and overlay a GE photo automatically but the resolution is again a screen capture resolution

Did you get the new Beta version V2.1.0 working when you put in a kap file name

I know the new version won´t work with XP, it has a different format for the Save As screen. It should work with Vista. I don´t have Windows 7 so don´t know if it works or not, aprreciate if someone tells me.

I am working on fixing the XP problem and fixing the problem if you don´t enter a kap file.
