EGNOS Fix

I have just replaced a lot of my electronics following a lightning strike. After some adjustment of settings I can get an EGNOS fix from satellite 124 on the new GPS. I am swinging at anchor so it is difficult to asses the change in fix quality, but the DOP has dropped to about 0.3 and the reported elevation is more accurate and consistent within a few meters, which makes the think the fix is more accurate.
EGNOS is still listed as testing has anyone used this satellite differential system and can report if there are any problems in using it.

As of April 1, 2009, the EGNOS signal will be available for operations on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Thanks Gord
You come up with the best references. I dont know how you keep up with all the sailing related news. I wonder how they came up with the the date of April 1 to make it operational.
Looks like it is OK to use. it certainly seems to be working.
Thanks John
