Ashmore Reef

I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this, but does anyone have any information on Ashmore Reef (off the NW coast of Australia). I,m mainly interested in the anchorage there. Thanks

Re: Ashmore Reef

Sorry I can't help you but as it is a fairly popular cruising destination for our Indonesian neighbours, perhaps you could try an Indon Fishing Forum or similar.

More seriously, it is an exposed spot but well used during the dry season and to be avoided during the wet but I don't have first hand experience.

I have not been but it is supposed to be beautiful place to spend a week or so .The Australian navy patrol it quite regularly for illegal fishing. The Bumfuzzles went there on there circumnavagation and loved it which is saying alot as you cannot purchase either beer or pizza there.
