Site w/ Best Anchor Prices?

Not to get into a discussion about which is best

I am going to purchase either a Rocna 15 or a Manson Supreme 25.

I have a 33’ monohaul with 4.8 ton displacement. We live in Grenada so will have the anchor shipped in. I am getting prices from the local marine stores.

My question is where is the BEST PRICE WEB SITE to purchase these anchors. I can have it shipped to Miami and then brought down by an import / export company, obviously for a price. So I want to see how the prices compare to each other and to the marine stores.

It seems that there are only two distributors in the US for the Rocna anchors:

Azure Marine in Pembroke Pines (Ft. Lauderdale area) FL

Azure Marine-SF Search Engine Output Page The Rocna 15 is $476.00

And West Marine:

West Marine: Rocna Anchors Product Display The Rocna 15 is $499.00

The Manson is also sold by Azure Marine:

The Manson Supreme anchor The 25 is $255 Galvanized, and $998 in Stainless.

Defender has it for $269.99: Manson Supreme Anchors

Seems the prices go up from there.

Considering that Azure Marine has the best price on both...and they are located in South FL....their freight cost should be nil and they may be able to arrange the shipping direct to you.....

Hope that helps.

That answered all of my questions. Now I need to determine which one.
I am also going to put in three saad screws. If things get worse than that I will sail to Trinadad

For me, Azure Marine was a good outfit to deal with. FWIW.

Interesting to see the prices.

Here the 25lb Supreme is US$184 and the Rocna 15kg US$290 at todays exchange rate (US$0.60 = NZ$1). But those a RRP's and they can often be got for less with some sweet talking and/or bribery.

A Rocna 10 is US$230.00, which is more the equivalent when comparing to a Supreme 25. And one of the reasons why Supreme is winning the war.

I can see where the extra for the Supreme comes from, they are shipped 1/2 way around the world to get to the US but at a lose as to why the Rocna is so much higher. When I was at school they taught us Canada was pretty close to the US That's unless they are coming from 'somewhere else' but even then that is still a big difference.

Just wondering why your thinking a 25lb of one and a 33lb of the other?

May pay to jump in quick if after a Rocna, the smoke signals are saying price rises on those could be imminent.

I'm not Gord but are in NZ. I'm the better looking but dumber of the 2 of us

Nothing specific but it was mentioned last week they want one. Don't know if it will happen though. Now wouldn't be a good time to do that would be my thought.

Sorry, GMac, I thought I saw someone else address you as Gord. Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Anyhow thanks for the info. Those Rocnas are too damn expensive already, especially here in the US!

No worries, I know how you feel and yes.

Just out of interest I looked at the costs to courier one to the US only to find the US is the most expensive and slowest to get too destinations, if you exclude Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Gibraltar and the UAE. Now that is just bizarre especially as Qatar and China cost only a little more than Australia. I'll check that out next week, I suspect it must be a typo.

When I went to school $551 nzd converted to usd at the rate you quote of .60 converts to $330usd . The $551 being taken from your own website as your sale price online for a Rocna 15kg GMac.

You are only to aware as a Rocna reseller, and you have been corrected before, that the US Rocna's are currently made in New Zealand and shipped to the North American Distributor from here.

Smoke signals?? more rumours from you, perhaps the indians are playing with your teepee?

A google search for online resellers of the Rocna range will bring a few surprises for the online community with a wide range of prices quoted from many online resellers worldwide. Many of these ship worldwide with savings in shipping being made on sizes up to 20kg. Search keywords " Rocna anchors" etc and see for yourself.

As the world moves more and more towards online purchasing there will be plenty of opportunity for bargains for the astute buyer.

Pricing of the Rocna range is always being looked at worldwide however we will never compromise the quality of our product just to save a few dollars.

While we are producing some product in our Shanghai facility the North American Rocna supplies are still being manufactured in New Zealand and shipped to Canada for distribution.
