Maxwell RC10 Main Bearing?

Does anyone know the OEM part number for the main bearing or 'deck bearing' of a Maxwell RC8 or RC10 Windlass? This is Maxwell part no. 4218, item #33 on the RC10 drawings. I doubt it is a custom Maxwell part.

Similarly, has anyone found or purchased a parts kit for the RC 10 of the consumable or 'wearable' parts? Most of the kits in the manual include include major parts such as castings and/or shafts. But springs, seals, bearings, and keys wear out much faster.

Thanks.

The real "OEM" part number for a bearing, (ball or roller bearing) will be on the side of the outer race.
Factoid; a Cessna Citation jet uses the same main wheel bearing as a Ford 3/4 ton pickup.

Ecos, thank you for the reply. I was hoping that someone would have it in their maintenance logbook so that I could order a spare from a bearing house without disassembling the windlass. It seems that this bearing is a frequent failure point on many windlass' of various makes and models.

Re: Maxwell RC10 Main Bearing?

Is it a ball bearing or a bronze bush? In my older Maxwell VWC1200 it is a plain bronze bushing.

Re: Maxwell RC10 Main Bearing?

Jim, Very good question. Honestly, I just installed this windlass in May and didn't look. Of course, looking would have meant disassembling a new windlass out of the box, and I was focused on the installation; deck modifications, electrical runs and loads, etc. replacing a manual windlass. The drawings are indeterminate, but it could be a bronze bushing. I wish technical writers would use more specific terminology.

I've gotten good customer service response by e-mail direct from Maxwell.

My Maxwell Freedom 800 has a plastic main bearing. Just replaced it, about 30 mm long. Called the deck plate bearing. No 20 in the diagram. Click image for larger version
