Anchor windlass Up -no down

Hi.

We have a quick windlass and associated support.

The other day we hit the button at the helm to drop the anchor and nothing happened. We can get it up but it won't drop. There is a clicking sound inside a black box that is before the windlass motor. This black box has the wiring to the motor and then feeds back to the breaker.

I have taken off all three 12 v wires to the black box and cleaned them. When I was having a frustrated play with it when it first occurred after many attempts it did raise it once but never again. I have swapped over the up and down cables and checked it and it will then drop it but not raise it.

Would live to hear of a solution to this one.

Unfortunately you need a new black box. They don't last forever. I actually carry a spare. You should be able to get one for $60 if you lock hard enough.
