I just got back onboard and confirm now that I indeed used G Flex 650.

Last comment.

The renovated Zodiac Cadet 290 gets nicely on a plane with our 68kg with our Susuki Dt4 2 stroke.

On a side note, I had always problems with this engine sounding choked. Asked on this forum about it. In the end what fixed it was a lower pitch prop (6x7-1/2) and cleaned carburetor.

Does not mind humidity, the special PVC glue does not tolerate this.

Has gap filling characteristics, the PVC glue has that only for a limited amount.

You need less G-flex than the special two component PVC glue.

So even price wise the G-flex seems better. While the G-flex is slightly more expensive for a pack you only use half of it, while you use a complete tin of the other stuff.

I'm sold on G-flex for inflatable repairs outside of a controlled workshop.
Hello,
New member here. Doing a repair on the air deck of my PVC inflatable. The kit came with 1-part adhesive and I've read that 2-part is a bit better so been scouring the internet and still trying to chose a course of action...

Doing a longer term check on your results OP. How is your satisfaction with your G-flex repairs?
Cheers,
Mike

Nice follow-up. One of the first things I did when I got my inflatable was go to a smaller pitch prop and that has been great. Don't really need speed anyway and I prefer knowing that the outboard is more able to handle a load.

Re: RIB Salvage Project, glue for PVC inflatable.

In the spirit of over posting on a dead thread....

I ended up talking to someone good at a dealer and he said the adhesive that comes with your kit is the same that is used at the factory. Use that. He asked how big my leak is and when I told him it was about a mm or less and a very slow leak he said: you don't even need a patch for something that small. Just clean the surface with acetone, deflate the air deck and put a dab of that adhesive on the leak. Wait 24 hours before re-inflating. Sounded good to me!
