Re: Keeping bottom of dinghy Clean

we have davits on the boat, although it is on a mooring and I use the dinghy to get out to the boat. When we sail, I of course use the davits.

Currently using antifoulant on the aluminum and brushing off when we swim.

Halyard or davits.

Nothing else comes close. Outboard likes it, too .

If possible, and it is a duckie, float it upside down at times.
Is a problem if a large outboard.

Re: Keeping bottom of dinghy Clean

My dinghy is small enough I can haul it out and tie it to side of boat at night. Easy to deploy in case of emergency. Of course this would not work if it had an outboard on it, or if I left the paddles in it. I think if I was on the water all the time, I would add a lifter to boat. It only needs to be up a few inches.

Here is my floating dock, a Sport Port XLT, secured in position w/ two vertical 4" Schedule 40 PVC pipes pushed into the sea floor and secured w/ hoop brackets to the sea wall fixed dock.

This floats w/ my dinghy and myself on the dock, w/ plenty of additional floatation. It is easy to hand slide my dinghy on and off the dock.

Re: Keeping bottom of dinghy Clean

I am in New England. This is the first year to keep the Highfield in the water most of the time. I just put on McLube Antifouling Alternative. Too early for results but I will update in a few weeks.
