Grumman sailing dinghy

Hello , I just picked up a grumman sailing Dinghy and I need a sail , does anyone here have an idea where I could source one , or find the specs to make one ?

Bdozz, I have a Grumman Yacht Tender also. Just the hull, in exceptional shape, along with an aluminum rudder, probably from a beach cat. Aside from some very basic info found on the internet, I don't have rig or sail details. There are some older CF threads on them. I'd be interested in partnering up on two sets of sailing rig/gear. Thanks cal40john, but the Sailrite data is for a Grumman 17 foot boat. We are talking about an 8-1/2' dinghy here.

Just a few notes/thoughts that might help...
There's only so many dink sailplans. The Grumman's mast step placement would determine what might work best. What are any other hardware/rigging points?
Once you figger out what might work and what suits your taste, look at other dink rigs to scope out suitable size and materials and build to suit.
Best about diy on a dink.....if it doesn't work or ya don't like it...
You can scrap/rebuild as needed and yer not out a Lotta bux!

There are many sail maker sources on line that market ‘class and one-design’ sails. These can be obtained directly or through the big sail makers. I got new class sails for my 1957 Rebel from Quantum.

Here is a website for small boats. These guys have a line on used and scrapped parts and can be quite helpful for your issues on almost any small boat.

Look for spars from an old sunfish or other suitable toy boat. Here is a Fatty Knees with a Sunfish rig in Martinique. The cruiser used this on favorable days for un or getting to town. He also had a tiny OB for use without the rig.
