We have a WB-8
dinghy that we love for its toughness, lightness, sailing ability and row-ability (?).
However 2 (average weight) adults, some groceries and a 4HP
outboard at half throttle results in perilous voyages in choppy seas as the freeboard is a bit limited.
I am looking at fixing 3 x 12" diam fenders each side, horizontally, using saddles and
Spectra to increase the freeboard and the stability.
Walker Bay have an after-market kit available but it is almost as expensive as the dinghy's
purchase price.
If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, they would be most welcome.
