Splicing exotic (Vectran or Spectra) double braid?

So, I'm pretty handy at eye-splicing in standard dacron double braid. I can also pull of a reasonable Mobius Brummel eye-splice in exotic 12-strand single braid.

But quite a few of my ropes are double braid, combining an exotic core with a Dacron cover (Vectran, Spectra, Kevlar, etc). It is my understanding that the load is mostly carried by the core and that the cover just provides good handling, chafe resistance and UV resistance.

A standard double braid eye splice is no good. I am not sure how a Mobius Brummel splice would work with double braid.

So, the question is, what is the correct splice?

That looks good; I will give it a try.

Next question, though. Many of the splices I have tried have a noticeable thickening of the rope for quite a way from the eye (due to the various tails of rope inside the core), and also a noticeable stiffening of the rope in that area. You can work some of the stiffening out of the rope, but not all. For halyards in particular, this thickening and stiffening is not ideal when the halyard turns on a sheave in close proximity to the eye (when the sail is full hoist). Is there any solution to this problem?
