Sparcraft bearings

Hi all, I have a Sparcraft inmast furler on my Catalina 470.

I want to change the roller bearings above and below the furling screw.

My question is, can you do this without removing the mast? Can the bearing housing come out through the cut out section in the mast or do they need to come out the bottom of mast thus the need for mast removal?

Thanks in advance.
