Reacher furler attachment

Do you have any experience to set furler with a rope pendant istead of a bowsprit ?
I'm thinking about to buy a furler reacher but i wouldn't install a bowsprit to avoid welding on the deck of the boat (she is metal boat!!!)
Fair wind

And what would the pendent be attached to? You don't need a sprit, but you do need to tie it down somewhere strong ahead of the forestay.

It could be attached to the anchor bowspirit...

I see, so you have a hard point to attach to and the question is whether you can use a rope to tie it down or whether the facnor needs to go direct to a hard point? I think it needs to latch to a non-twisting point. Otherwise, the rope pennant would just twist?? Maybe with a swivel on the pennant? Not positive as I've not used one.

Re: Reacher furler attachment

Is the "anchor bowsprit" built with a strong support tube below it attached to the hull? A sail attached out there will exert a serious upward pull on the anchor bowsprit and you need something to keep the bowsprit from being ripped up and off the boat.

I am doing similar on steel boat. Will have carbon fibre tube fixable at base on foredeck, a holding bracket incorporated into my stemhead fitting, pendant from tube end down to weld entry on stem just above waterline. Cashews have done similar - check them out. No biggie to weld on metal boat.
