Lofrans Falkon - convert to 2 chainwheels

I have a 3/8" BBB wheel, I'm converting to 3/8" G4 so I'm getting a new wheel.

Now what to do with the old wheel?

I have a second bow roller on Port, but it won't line well to the Stbd. Chain wheel. So I'm thinking, maybe change out my captain for a second chain wheel, put the old but perfectly fine 3/8" BBB wheel in the port side.

Anyone ever do this?

Any idea of costs Past the chain wheel, which I have?

My Stbd main anchors is a 125 lb Mantus. My port lunch anchor is a 66 lb spade.

If your windlass has the primary driveshaft keyed to the gypsy (chainwheel), and the capstan activated by a friction clutch, (as Lewmar is), a good machinist should be able to make the required spacers and such to do the change.

I think mine is the other way round. The Chainwheel has the clutch, so that you can slow descent of the anchor and chain.

If you release the clutch completly the capstan still turns.

I'm starting to think this a dumb idea.
