Thank you Thinwater for the detailed reply. Thats a lot of math, which makes my brain hurt! Having had these up for a year now, I luckily haven't had to test them to that extreme, I can say the the way i have the Spyderline ends wrapped around the pulpits creates a lot of friction, so losing one of those individual lines I'd think should not effect the system as a whole. It certainly doesn't make it easy to re-tension though, which I have had to do a good bit, but does make it feel more secure once tensioned and tied off. It's funny, I remember reading elsewhere (cant recall where) to specifically not lash the ends around the whole bundle....maybe testing is in order to determine which provides a better hold?
