Chafe on diamond stays

Just replaced the old rod rigging diamonds with dyform and was wondering what should be used as chafe protection (or if needed) where the 2 diamond stays cross each other and touch.

Re: Chafe on diamond stays

A survey found a little chafe after 8 years. I used some nylon tubing, cut in a spiral pattern and wrapped it around one of the stays, kept in place with a lashing.

Thanks for the recommendation. The old rod rigging was 17 years old and showed no signs of chafe, though I’m sure it’s a little more chafe resistant than the 1x19.
