1989 Hunter 30G chainplate anchor inspection

I had seen quite a few pictures of corrosion on the chainplate anchors on the 89-94 Hunter series as they did not use stainless steel. Due to this issue, decided to use a Borescope to determine the condition of mine before re-bed of the chainplate.

Different plate than some posted in that series. No angled plate with bolts. Just a flat fiberglass encapsulated 1/4 inch steel plate . You can imagine the problems if you get a leak into the area, or high humidity. No way for the moisture to get out.

Also, with the Hunter 30 G and 30T , unlike the larger Hunter in this series boats, there is no room to make a "slot" forward/back of anchor to get in and remove the anchor if needed. You would have to remove from the outer hull.

In lieu of that, I think the shrouds can be run to the toe rail if needed. I see they did that on the later model Hunter 33.5 . Used a U bolt and backing plate to the toe rail
