Re: Spectra annular rings / nickel bronze fittings

So... The VFD motor and procon pump.... he's using a friggin espresso machine water pump? That's a fantastic idea. Damn I had one that I gave away a while back.
Is your friend using a stainless or brass procon?

For the corrosion people... Are you flushing with fresh water after production?

Re: Spectra annular rings / nickel bronze fittings

I have been using a stainless Procon, a magdrive with 24V DC motor. I disliked the Shurflo pumps because they were so unreliable and finicky to rebuild, but I do think they were quieter. With Procon, I would definitely go stainless, and flush with fresh water after every use to maximize life. Also REALLY important not to run the Procon dry, and the Shurflo could do that all day long. Shurflo was slightly more efficient.

Ah now I see the sea water procons. Nice. Do you have the motor model you used handy?
This is even more important now that I've learned that the used unit I picked up expects dual feed pumps but I only ended up with one.

Here are a couple links to people who have upgraded to AC motors and Procon pumps:
