How to plug Marelon Seacock

Hi,

I'm ripping out my marine head and installing a composting head. I'd like to cap off my Forespar Mareleon sea cocks that will no longer be used (they may be removed entirely some day if I like the composting head).

I'm wondering what specific part is required to cap off the Marelon sea cocks. Thanks!

Re: How to plug Marelon Seacock

Just shut the valve…. If you are worried about someone accidentally opening the valve, leave a short length of hose on the barb and hose clamp on a plug in the hose. Or Make your own plug and fill the hose barb with epoxy or 5200. And then reinstall the barb…

If the valve doesn’t leak, I’d just close it and walk away…. Would still make sense to exercise it from time to time though. That way if you decide to go back, you know it still works

If the hose barb is threaded into the seacock (likely) just use a pipe plug.

Re: How to plug Marelon Seacock

Forespar has a female threaded Cap for 1 1/2" male threads. The part number is 920415 along with a gasket, #920422. The cap goes of the thru hull. The valve would have to be removed. The valve part numbers are 904011 and 905104.

If you have the valves with part numbers that start with 93..... then there are what are called blank caps that are the third section/top pc. where you can remove the top hose barb and install the blank cap in its place. Email sts2 with pictures of the valves that you have currently and confirm the inside diameter of the hoses and more specific information can be sent.
