1990 Doral Monticello / Water Heater Location

Hello all,i am new to cruising,i bought a 1990 doral monticello,ihave a small problemo,i cant find the water heater,i know the general location from following the cord underneath the floor,its either behind a mirror in the bedroom,or behind the stairs,i just dont have the confidence to start trying to open either one ,the mirror is attached with a silver button like thingy,i dont know how to get those off???and the stairs i could start removing screws but i dont know what all i will disturb....please if anyone knows about doral monticello,please advise...thank you in advance for your kindness to a new cruiser

water heater on my doral monticello is in engine compartment, only thing behind mirror is anchor chain, as for steps, well its a bed.
