suggested pitch for a 14" 3 blade prop

any ideas for a prop pitch? 8, 9 The boat is a sloop, 31ft with a perama engine 30hp. 1" shaft right turning. Buying a new prop and want to get the pitch right. Thanks, Dave

I really think this is not a good spot to get that kind of info, unless you like random numbers..

There are a lot of variables that come into play. My suggestion would be to talk to a mechanic that you trust or even better, talk to the guys who will be selling you the prop..

This way if what they suggest is wrong, they might be willing to exchange it.

I just replaced my prop so I can relate to the problem.

What is the pitch on the old prop ? What do you want the new prop to do ?

Ask the people who are supplying the propeller to work out what you need. This way you stand a fair chance of it working properly. After all, you are buying the propeller from a propeller supplier aren't you?
