Propeller for Islander 32 with Yanmar 2GM20F

We bent our 3-bladed prop on a reef and since have had it repaired. However, when installed it seems to cause black smoke from the engine on higher rpms. Could it be due to a change in pitch that the repair guy made? Prior to this we had no problem with the propeller.

It is very possible to get black smoke from too much pitch.

Is there any vibration involved? If so ,could be that it wasn't done properly. Black smoke from a diesel usually indicates it isn't getting enough air.Check your air filter(s)

Most likely the cause, but you may want to check the injectors as a bad one can cause high cylinder wear. With greater pitch, a bad injector is more likely to smoke.
