Re: Hot Bulb Diesels

The Danish company - Hundested motorfabrik A/S was established in 1921 by August Jørgensen and Johannes Hoejsgaard.
In the beginning they sold "DAN" engines - but in 1928 they produced their first engine and the last was produced in 1994 - some people mean that it was the last 2-stroke semidiesel that was made.
All in all the company produced 2512 engines.
The company had a good market on Greenland.
In 1952 engine number 1000 was produced and it was given to the guy who bought number 1.
The Hundested engine are not equipped with adjustable nozzle - but uses a regulator that changes the ignition automatically.
From the middle of the -60'es the company startet using aluminium pistons - a 12 hp became a 16 hp and so on.
The engines was mostly delivered with 1 or 2 cylinders - but there was made a version with 3 cylinders.
The largest version with 1 cylinder had 98 hp.
The first engine was a 22 hp.
The largest ever built was a 3 cyl. 400 hp.
The same family owned the company until 1998 where it was sold - the company are now called Hundested Propeller A/S.
It's a very common engine in Denmark to day- and many engines are still in use - mostly maritime.
you can find a picture of a 48 hp version on www.motorsamling.dk or search
for - hundested motor - in google.
