+3 on melted line near the cutlass bearing or/and prop.
Had the same thing happen after hitting a crab pot at night. Still ran engine and the line was melted just in front of the prop and behind the cutlass bearing. After hacksawing the melted mass, that prop now spins more freely than the other. I am guessing the tension had slightly "wore" the cutlass more than usual.


The melted mass can also inhibit water flow through cutlass.
