Can anyone advise on a good reputable marine title company?

Marine Documentation Service in Anacortes has an impeccable reputation. Talk to Sonja. 360 299 3272 I don't think it matters to her where the boat is lying.

What registration are you after? As an Australian I registered as a Delaware boat initially (just changed to Australian) and had a great registration Company.

Hmmm...I thought that the boat had to be registered were it is docked primarily or were you live or something like that?

I guess I was just planning on doing the Coast Guard registration.

These ladies are awesome at what they do.

Callie has been my agent for some time now.

For more complex issues, see if you can speak with Mr. Kim at Kim Marine Documentation. He's who the Coast Guard talks to about issues too arcane for even them. He's extremely busy and prefers large commercial clients, though.

I've used Linda Dunn in Newport RI several times. She came highly recommended and was quick and efficient.

Did you say in an earlier post that you are going to dock your boat in Boston? It's not easy to avoid the Massachusetts 6.25% sales tax on a recently bought boat. Rhode Island has no sales tax (or other taxes) on boats. Winters in the water are also quite a bit warmer.

Re: Marine Title Company Recommendation

There are some really fine marine doc folks around but it has been my experience that it is more efficient to use a service where the boat is being purchased or where it is gong to be registered. With USCG documentation, not as important. Phil

Re: Marine Title Company Recommendation

A lot of locations will require state registration as well as USCG documentation.
