Leopard 39 power cat info

I am going to be doing some work on a friend's 2012 Leopard 39 for a few months, prior to its departure on a long cruise from San Diego to the Caribbean, via the Canal. We will be doing a number of projects including watermaker, security, and upgrades of existing equipment. Is there anyone on the forum who has had experience with this craft, or with similarly sized power cats? The last equivalent, for me, was a 40 foot power trimaran with twin diesel outboards, across the Pacific to Hawaii in 1989. This is a whole different boat!

Here's a peep at it (check out the video walk-through): 2012 Leopard 39 PC Power Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

Well, no comments but quite a few visits, so I guess there are few folks who can respond. The boat comes in tomorrow, so I'll post some of my observations and comments on the preparations for its upcoming passage to the Caribbean.

The TrawlerForum does have a few power cat owners, but I haven't seen a Leopard represented. The area-specific sub-forums are good for specific issues. Whatever you do, do not refer to this boat as a "trawler"! 😀

For electronics, though, I'd say TheHullTruth would be a better place though they are mostly fish/sport boat oriented.

Well, you were looking for a response.
Almost no one really has a trawler on the trawler forum anyway. They do not care.It is just a place to exchange ideas and information, for people who have powerboats. Some don't even have diesel engines.but they still fit in.Your boat is not popular. You will just have to find a home somewhere to exchange ideas.
I wish you good luck.

Not sure how I got quoted as saying the TF doesn't care about defining trawlers. Here's a thread with 291 messages that drove that into the ground and beat it with a couple of sticks (including whacks by one of the mods!) before getting locked by another mod:

Leopard 39 power cat info

Hello! I own a 2007 Leopard 37 PoweCat, and have chartered the 39PC. I'm no boat mechanic, but would be happy to hear what kinds of questions you may have.

Re: Leopard 39 power cat info

Just an update on my posting: The boat has been hauled to do some work on the rudders, the bottom has been painted, and a number of small improvements have been performed. We are waiting for some Macris Underwater LEDs (Panbo: The Marine Electronics Hub: Macris MIU15 underwater LED, OceanLED Xtreme news, and Rigid Dually spot) for installation at the stern, and will be adding some cleats, also on the stern. We have purchased a pair of Racor Dual fuel filter units and will be adding vacuum gauges on the bridge, along with pressure switches and alarm/LEDs above the gauges to warn of fuel fouling issues in advance of a fuel failure. The owner has also added additional drain holes to the foredeck to aid in draining some low spots on the deck.
