1968 Luhrs 32' Fiberglass Fishing Boat

Is this a good coastal cruising boat? What should I look for? It is a fiberglass boat. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend looking for an older Blackfin or Hatteras. Build quality is much better and would stand up to the test of time.

Most of the older Luhrs have twin gas engine with 150gal of fuel so range would be very limited.

Find a Surveyor and let him know you will hire him to survey "Next Boat". Offer to pay him/her for their time (Take them out for lunch!) and ask all of your questions.

I hired a Surveyor 16 years ago to look at a boat. He set foot onboard for five minutes and called me up and told me to buy him a beer. While we enjoyed our beers he explained what a piece of junk that boat was, (Went down a brief list and even brought me back so I could see for myself!) and then he asked what I intended to do on the water. He asked me if I would hire him as my surveyor, and after my assurances (This Guy had just saved me 30K!) he told me what type of boats might fit my boating style. He got all of my business from then on until the day he passed.

Good Luck on your boat!
