Yes of course, but I meant as a general comment on the function of modern dat sail training tall ships. Have a read of "tall ship down" , its gives a good roundup of the issues.

Essentially because of the time lapse, between the end of the age of sail and the arrival of sail training, huge knowledge and experience was lost, which has never really been regained. One can point to a disturbing number of seemingly stupid mistakes in recent years that have resulted in the foundering of tall ships, ( Astrid, Johanna Lucretia, aka TV reality series Cabin Fever & that UK one that low power near cliffs in teh UK) all these showed similar issues,
