Updating profile

Hello all. I'm new to the site and trying to update my profile. I can get into my profile but am unable to fill in the blanks. Any help would be appreciated.

Only discovered this yesterday. There's a tiny pencil icon next to each category line. You click that and a pop-up window for that category opens that you can type in. Just remember to hit the "save" button on the lower right hand side of the pop-up otherwise your handiwork disappears.

I don't see any pencil icons.

Sorry if any of this is "how to suck eggs": I click on my profile name up where it says "welcome" on the main page. Then on the resulting page I click "about" and the resultant window includes the categories with pencils. (I am on the website not the app. maybe thats the difficulty)
