thoughts on a 24' Cal Pearson

am thinking about buying a 1985 24' cal pearson. I can pick it up for 4500 bucks, I live in savannah Ga. and will be using it for weekend outings with my girlfriend. What do yall think about it. I know she drawing 4'6" which could be an issue around here, but I am fairly comfortable with the waters.

any thoughts, opinions would be appreciated.

Sorry, have nothing meaningful to contribute on the 24 -- but, wasn't that the boat Robin Graham started out in, or am I all mixed up...

Yes, Robin Graham started out in a Cal 24 and so did the Martins. Mid-20' Cals are nice boats. If shallow water is a consideration you may want to look for a centerboard or swing keel model in some brand - don't think you'll find them in a Cal. For $4500 I hope you get a trailer, outboard, some gear, etc.

"Dove" was a trunk cabin version of the 24', Lapworth designed, "Gladiator", not a Cal although the raised, flush deck, Gladiator does resemble the Cal 25 rather much.

Cheers,
