Tampa Bay Blues Fest and Anchorage in St. Petersburgh, Florida

We'd love to anchor nearby Vinoy Park where the Tampa Bay waterfront blues fest is taking place in early April.
Anyone been there, done that, have recommendations or previous experiences to share?
City docks nearby to tie up to?

I haven't anchored, but I've been to BluesFest and there were lots of boats just off the seawall. Check the chart to evaluate depth. The music will be loud enough to hear.

St Pete Municipal Marina is close enough to walk, but I suspect that transient spaces fill up quickly that weekend. Might want to call tomorrow. The Vinoy Hotel has its own marina too, but it is likely pretty pricey.

I have anchored and watched/listened to concerts there many times. On any significant east wind it's a bad idea. The wave action bounces off the sea wall. From North or West its more managable and protected. As mentioned Vinoy Marina is very, very expensive and has alot of roll on an east wind. There are also mooring balls in that basin that are $14 a night but you won't hear the music very well from there.

You can anchor anywhere along the seawall at Vinoy park in plenty of water, but any east winds and its going to get choppy. There is limited room inside the Bayboro Harbor (just north of The Harborage's new megayacht docks) for maybe a boat or two. Could just get a slip at the municipal marina or the Harborage, and walk over to the festival. The walk from the Harborage to downtown is really cool, past the airport and Dali museum along the waterfront.

Durn the timing! I'm flying to Bonaire the morning of the 10th. Sounds like a great time!

There'll be a nice moon that weekend, too.
