Only 5 years old Wharram-Pahi 42’ privately built and launched in 2010, travelled 2 1/2 years from Australia via Indonesia, Philippines to Malaysia / was sold and I transferred her (Kali Sara) to Phuket into a shipyard for upgrading in 2013. Kali Sara proved to be a strong, sea worthy sailing yacht and her condition is excellent - you won't find a spot of rot. Reason for sale: even though trying another season: my vertigo after sailing (that's a dizziness which can stay for weeks) is not getting better. So Kali Sara has to go!
Price: 75,000US$ (that's what I've put into her)
Kali Sara has two new direct fuel injection engines/Suzuki 20Hp, a new teak-deck, new dinghy w/engine and lift. Auto pilot, satellite navigation and sonar comes with usual electronics. The main sail, stay sail and large jib are all brand new, genoa and storm sails are not new but in good condition. The mast is aluminium, custom made for this boat. Water maker (never used by us) included. Plenty of tools, pots and pans, fridge, safety equipment, ropes and spares - she is ready to go. Based in Phuket/Thailand with German registration. Kali Sara was privately built in Australia by Colin Elphinstone. He built her for himself and his family to sail the world. After 2.5 years of sailing their son (11) was fed up and they decided to abandon their dream. He built her very strong and robust. When we bought her they provided us with lots of pictures shot during construction. He did not color paint the inside so you can see every corner of the boat to check the plywood for rot.
