OpenCPN and 4G Radar, hardware connection before the interface

ciao to everyone,
can someone tell me how many options there are
in the connection from a 4G radar to a pc, interface units and more?
can i split the cable before the interface unit with a passive splitter to save power on a sailboat?
i'd like to have one independant output from the radome to the pc running opencpn, and the other for the interface to a mfd.
i am not sure how to do this.

No, a passive splitter will not work. You need a hub, switch, or router.
The laptop (RADAR plugin) can be a slave or master.
