Chartering in Canada

I am a U.S. citizen, and will be chartering a boat in Canada in August. I read on line where boat owners have to have a Canadian Boater Safety Certificate. Since I am chartering, do I need one? Or, will my U.S. boater Safety Certificate suffice? I've contacted my charter company, but they aren't great about getting back to me... and I want to be prepared.

Re: Chartering in Canada

You'll be good to go.

Acceptable Proof of Competency for Non-Residents can take one of three forms:
A Canadian-issued pleasure craft operator card.
A completed boat rental safety check-list (for power-driven rental boats).
An operator card or equivalent that meets the requirements of their state or country.
Requirements for Foreign Recreational Boaters in Canadian Waters ➥ https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafet...sitor-1610.htm
