Hi from Chateauguay Quebec, Canada (still in Canada !!)

My name is Bill Franchini and I am new to sailing.
Sounds like a greeting at an AA meeting...😀
Last fall I bought a mini pocket cruiser' a (16 ft mistral with a pretty decent cuddy), for lack of a better name, so that I can learn to sail and then buy a MacGregor 26S (the one that still looks like a real sailboat, not the X or M) to cruise the Great Lakes and hopefully the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The choice for the MacGregor was dictated by the fact that Evelyn and I want to visit a lot of places and at 6 knots on a windy day, we will be in our nineties before we reach any interesting destination. For this reason we looked into trailerable boats, and the Mac is ideal and will not even require us to change vehicle ( a 2011 Ford Escape 4wd) because it weighs under 2000 lbs without water ballast of course... And I am presently towing a 3000 lbs RV with no problem.

So.. If there is someone wanting to sell a Mac 26S or D, in Canada or in upper NY state, I am interested.

Now.. What else... Oh yes, I am 66 years old and supposed to be retired... Instead I have to work as a consultant to pay for all these boats :-) Evelyn ( my wife of 40 years) is a school teacher and will retire in three years ( I like them young) and she is dying to go cruising...
