Thanks for all the great feedback. It could actually be old fuel also as I know the boat was sitting for quite a few years. The fact the tanks are almost full is what is leading me to think it is...

Yes I do have an outlet on the bottom of the tank so I think I will try the suggestions here first and confirm it is water. Then will try leaving it sit and also see what results I get with a water...

Steady hand, it's about 500 litre day tank. Should get plenty out of that :)

Thanks to all. I don't think it could be an accidental water fill up but I can see how others have done it. Our fuel is actually filled in an opening on the tank. There is no deck fill etc.

Actually the plot thickens. The tank below the engine is always full as it draws from the other tank in the engine room.

The PO said he had run aground and had layer her over. I bet she took in...

hmmm steady hand you may be on to something there. The previous owner said it was about 75% full when he bought it but I think that he may have just looked at the gauge ( which is faulty) However it...
