Re: Help / FAQ

Tim,
I can look into this. Please tell us as much as you can about the exact steps to reproduce the crash. For example, what do you mean by “use a route”?

Re: Help / FAQ

If you post the last session of your opencpn.log file that might give a clue as to the cause of the problem. Find opencpn.log using the ? toolbar button.

The ODF format is a word processing format. OpenCPN will not know how to read it. You might check if there are other formats your system can produce.

Re: Help / FAQ

Is it ODF or ODS format? ODS is common and there are online translators I believe.

Re: Help / FAQ

Also, try zooming in using the + key. O only shows charts when the chart scale is compatible with the zoom scale. It will not usually show detailed large scale charts when zoomed way out to small...

Re: Help / FAQ

You can’t use mbtiles with OpenGL turned off. Some plugins (radar) require OpenGL.

Re: Help / FAQ

wingssail,

Can you try an experiment? In the Settings->Display->Advanced turn off "Use Accelerated Graphics" option. Then see if you have the same problem. Report the result here.

Re: Help / FAQ

The zoom ratios of +/- are hard coded and cannot be changed.

Does pinch with 2 fingers work on your tablet if you enable the tablet interface?

Re: Help / FAQ

Jon,

I can test this if I have access to your data files. I do not have large track and waypoint files so can not duplicate what you see.

Re: Help / FAQ

So you set up the PPA and it still cannot find the program? Double check the spelling of the PPA URL. It sounds like your system cannot find the PPA.

Re: Help / FAQ

I think it is really important for the mbtiles folks to understand the best way to create tile sets before jumping all over the developers. There are many examples of poorly designed tile sets out...

Re: Help / FAQ

Quilting off will only show one chart under the boat. Quilting shows all visible charts. It takes less CPU to show one chart.

Re: Help / FAQ

Jon,

Chart groups is not a hack. It lets each user control how and when they see charts. It will likely solve your problem if you learn to use it. You cannot expect any program to be a mind...

Re: Help / FAQ

I am not sure about what you mean by “state”. But if you don’t use groups then all charts are available all the time. So mbtiles and all other charts are loaded at startup regardless of “state”.
