It has always been my practice to use 3:1 as the initial scope with our Deltas and indeed CQRs and copies of same beforehand. Admittedly I use 3 x current actual depth plus the bow roller height...

It sees to me that anchors are not the problem, the real problem is the seabeds in some places which seem to be unsuitable. Solution could be cruise the Med on a cruise ship or by land and cruise...

Ihad a 35lb Delta on my 41 ft Sun Legende and used it for 10 years without dragging even one time despite anchoring in some less than perfect places in strong winds, nor did I ever have a problem...

The 2nd pic in this pair looks like a Kobra to me, a French made copy of a Delta type , but not the real deal Simpson Lawrence original.
