I've only run across ASA certs when I've given dinghy tests at my club. They ask if this card means anything here and I say sorry no. Those that can sail just say OK what do I do. Those that can't...

Insurance is crazy. When I got my Cal 40 one insurance company asked for my sailing resume. Another didn't, just said since I had never owned anything bigger than a Hobie before I would have to be...

Some places are getting picky. Another thread on CF discussed that there is now a law in Croatia that you must have an official license from your state.

I find it amusing since the US has none...

I haven't chartered in a long while. I have no certifications from recognized schools. Do most charterers still accept a sailing resume with the provision that they might have a captain come out...
