If you have underwater metals and a 12-volt electrical system aboard, you still have to worry about corrosion.

Umm... yes there is. It's called Military Specification A-18001K and the best anodes are produced using it. Zinc anodes are an alloy of metals. They are not 100% zinc. And if you think that picking...

I submit that smelting depleted anodes to cast a "new" one is not only a major PITA, but probably an excersize in futility, as far as protecting your underwater metals goes. Spent anodes cannot...

This will not work. While you may be able to shorten the zinc, you cannot modify the nut.

You are more than fairly restricted. You are **** out of luck. There is no prop nut and anode configuration made that will work in the space you have available.
