Re: Bestevaer 49ST

As I explained, on an iPhone you can’t identify the faces of the crew.
I was just posting a public video of an Aussie registered B49 charging along, here was no question of identities, consent or...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

I found it on an iPhone, couldn’t identify any faces from the video, didn’t even factor in who the crew were.
There are three people in the cockpit at times.
The giveaway was the Australian Red...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

We pulled the same stunt with a Waeco fridge, and reinstalled the icebox with extra insulation. Ours in under a dinette seat.

Cruising we mainly use the smaller waeco as a freezer, and freeze ice...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Chain markers look good.

I like the ties too, I wonder how they would go as counters, one turn round the link for each 10 m chain?

What knot are you using?

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

First saw that shower tub idea on a Pearson 424, great idea IMHO.
Any chance of diverting shower water from the sump to the tubs for washing if fresh water is a problem?

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Have you heard about Pelagic Autopilots? They even make a high power actuator for tiller steering.

Might be handy if you want to carry an autonomous spare pilot.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

When refitted our boat I took out the chart table and put in a dinette.

The hull side has a vertical panel with the switch and fuse panel, instruments and radios.

There is a chart drawer under...

Is it possible to bleed the engine from the day tank without manually pumping the lift pump?

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

It's a 7ish kg Electrolux, no sign of a 3.5 kg unit online.

Might be worth waiting till the last minute before you buy your one, the markets seems to be moving that direction.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

We recently bought a new front loader washer for home, the direct drive ones are an order of magnitude quieter than the old belt drives, and I suspect more energy efficient as well.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Current boat only has one tank.

Previous one I modified so there were taps in the return line, to direct the return to the tank I was using.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

What is going to happen?

OTOH, if I have missed something,...

You might want to think about a sliding...
