one thing the new gen systems can't do is make decisions like drop the sails for the 50 knot squall coming thru,or change course because their is an island in the way......that takes human...

any of the c series raymarine radars if you have $6000 to spend!

the next generation even have blue tooth so you can link it to your ipad and internet and watch porn movies on watch:whistling:

all of the modern digital radars have programable "guard zones" linked to alarms,and are very conservative on power,that coupled with ais will give pretty fair warning.

all the single handed rtw...

i have met a few cruising couples that put the radar on and go to bed for the night on ocean passages!
