Either. Unfortunately you have to precommit and ask for a particular model so once the choice has been made you are stuck with it. Never bothered me. |

I have a couple more tips that might suit some of you. All the big banks have foreign currency accounts. You can buy Euros or USD now at the right rate that will be locked in while you go boat... |

I haven't done the business yet. Two weeks to go for me. Another poster recommended Ozforex. They were 2 1/4% better than NAB when I checked. |

I already did. You are only right if you can find a broker who is a licensed 2nd hand dealer and buys from the previous owner on spec. |

There are plenty of countries to pick from. The Caribbean is full of flag of convenience arrangements. You could also register in Australia. |

There would be worse places to spend your time than cruising between Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Each one has daily flights to Australia and the tax + marina fees you save buys a helluva lotta... |

EPIRB's sure have come down in price. I bought a manual McMurdo 406 with GPS in 2006 for $1100 and now you can get one for $650. |

You can buy a set of shims to adjust the head mounts in order to solve that problem. It's a bit like turning a compass. Mind you things can turn very ugly very fast if you get it wrong. Perhaps... |

Schedule 3 applies only to non FTA countries. If a US ( or other FTA ) export to Australia is meant to attract duty then it will be in schedule 5. 8903.91.10 is not in schedule 5 so there is no duty... |
