Re: Refer Insulation

Re: Refer Insulation

PolyIso has a rate of water ingress when placed in water of 1mm per year.

Re: Refer Insulation

YES...I stand by the use of the Term Bogus...why?
The question was, will using a layer of Blue Board and then PolyIso give you a better R-value result. The answer is NO...so the question/idea is...

Re: Refer Insulation

For the love of Pete guys...
It is Bogus, test data shows it and you are not looking at the entire picture here and only seeing one piece of the puzzle. At the end of the day PolyIso wins...not...

Re: Refer Insulation

It's bogus....you will lose more with the 1/3 less R-value in using an inch of blue board than polyiso.

Re: Refer Insulation

For those thinking that a 33% increase in insulation R-Value of PolyIso over Blue Board isn't a "Big Deal, just remember the handy rule of thumb that if you double the R-Value of your Box, you cut...

Re: Refer Insulation

Blue Board is certainly better than nothing and yes it is more firm than PolyIso....but....

The classic thing to do is to add an inch or two of insulation to the inside walls of your Box. Or...

Re: Refer Insulation

That's not what our lab testing data shows.
We have built and tested 7CF boxes out of Blue Board, Pink Board, PolyIso (Rmax), Vacuum Panels, Ariogel...you name it...and we have test data on it.

Also anywhere you nicked the foil over the RMax, slap on a piece of the foil tape to seal that up.
