To have free market health care you have to get rid of VA, Medicare and Medicaid. I have the resources and good health to be OK with that, but I bet most won't.

The thing you fail to mention in your yearning for good ole' Ronnie is that the people that had factory jobs making $15-20/ hour in the 80s are now working at Walmart or mowing lawns for $8 an hour....

I believe only the first 150,000 or so is subject as well so that only like 9k a year. More if you're self employed.

Canada also has the US hospitals for rich folks. In England, oz and NZ there is a system of private hospitals for the rich. Canada's system "works" because the wealthy have to wait in the same line...

That's why all these overseas types can't understand us. It really is super complicated not to mention, VA, tribal clinics, Kidcare, Medicare, senior Medicaid

I'll just quickly point out that all that care will be billed at full retail and is technically not "free" also in many hospitals you sign a form pledging your home as payment as a homesteaded...

I would think most full time cruisers will be "making" far less than the cap on the subsidies. In my case, I may actually have to over report a bit of income to be eligible for the exchange.
