Yeah, doesn't penetrate really. Not waxy though. I've used on my guitars for 40+ years. It cleans sweat grime etc off real well. I wouldn't call it a finish though. I wouldn't use it if planning on...

Daly's Sea Fin is good. One thing to remember, interior varnishing is a rare occasion. If you do it on your boat it wont be due again for probably 10-15 years.
